The book “The Adventures of Biplop the Bumblebee” written by Abhishek Talwar with illustrations by Sonal Goyal is for children aged 4 – 10 years, is a treat to their eyes as well as their minds.
While introducing children to the significance of honeybee in our environment, there are a series of stories about how smart Biplop the bumblebee help farmer Balram to solve problems in his garden and farm.
The stories around how bees help to transfer pollen, conserving rainwater, how to protect your garden without pesticides, solar energy, farm to the plate… to mention a few are well woven. Along with that are large, beautiful illustrations that portray the stories very well.
It is a series of 3 volumes. Penguin Publishers have published Volume 1, while volume 2 and 3 are self-published and can be ordered from ‘The House of Books and Tales’.
The essence of these books is, it not only keeps children entertained with characters like Biplop, Carla the ladybug, miss Daisy, but it is also educational. Reading these books will not only kindle a sense of joy in children but enable one to be more aware of the surroundings and environment. It’s a treat for children who love animals and insects.
It definitely makes a difference in teaching children, about any concept, through a story along with hands-on experience (a must).
Although, sometimes I felt content could have been trimmed slightly, all in all, a must-have and read books for children.
Visit ‘The house of books and Tales’ to get all the 3 volumes and if lucky enough to get it signed by the author.
