Born in Gwalior, he did his schooling at the Saraswati Shishu Mandir in Gwalior. He attended Gwalior’s Victoria College (now Laxmi Bai College) and graduated in Hindi, English and Sanskrit. He completed his post-graduation in  M.A. in Political Science from DAV College, Kanpur.

Kofi Annan, Former secretary general of United Nations

 “In the 21st century, I believe the mission of the United Nations will be defined by a new, more profound awareness of the sanctity and dignity of every human life, regardless of race or religion,” Kofi Annan

Born in Kumasi, Annan did his schooling at elite Mfantsipim school, a Methodist boarding school in Cape Coast founded in the 1870s. He said that the school taught him “that suffering anywhere concerns people everywhere”. Annan pursued to study economics at Macalester College, International Relations from the Graduate Institute Geneva and Management at MIT.
